BestLife Insurance Terms and Conditions

Introduction These terms and conditions govern the use of insurance products and services provided by BestLife Insurance (hereafter referred to as “the Company”). By purchasing any of the Company’s insurance policies, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before entering into any contract.

1. Definitions 1.1. “Policyholder” refers to the person or entity who holds an insurance policy with the Company.
1.2. “Insured” refers to the individual whose life, health, or property is covered under the insurance policy.
1.3. “Premium” refers to the payment made by the Policyholder to maintain the insurance coverage.
1.4. “Policy” refers to the insurance contract between the Company and the Policyholder.
1.5. “Beneficiary” refers to the person or entity designated to receive benefits under the Policy.

2. Policy Coverage 2.1. The scope of coverage, including the risks covered and exclusions, will be outlined in the individual policy documents.
2.2. The Policy will be effective from the date of acceptance and payment of the first premium, unless stated otherwise.
2.3. Coverage will terminate in accordance with the terms specified in the Policy, which may include failure to pay premiums, fraudulent claims, or the expiration of the policy period.

3. Premium Payments 3.1. Premiums must be paid in full and on time to ensure continuous coverage under the Policy.
3.2. The Company reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Policy if the Policyholder fails to pay the premium within the grace period specified in the Policy.
3.3. Payments can be made via the methods outlined by the Company, including but not limited to bank transfers, mobile payments, and cash deposits.

4. Claims Procedure 4.1. In the event of a claim, the Policyholder or Beneficiary must notify the Company immediately or within the timeframe specified in the Policy documents.
4.2. All claims must be submitted with appropriate documentation, which may include death certificates, medical reports, or other relevant proof as requested by the Company.
4.3. The Company will assess each claim in accordance with the Policy and will pay out valid claims within the specified period.
4.4. The Company reserves the right to reject claims based on fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, or violation of the terms of the Policy.

5. Exclusions 5.1. The following are general exclusions that apply to all policies unless otherwise stated:

  • Acts of war, terrorism, or civil unrest.
  • Self-inflicted injuries or suicide within the first 12 months of the Policy.
  • Criminal acts committed by the Policyholder or Insured.
  • Pre-existing conditions not disclosed at the time of policy issuance.
  • Natural disasters or acts of God unless specified in the Policy.
    5.2. Additional exclusions specific to each policy will be listed in the policy documents.

6. Cancellation and Termination 6.1. The Policyholder may cancel the Policy at any time by providing written notice to the Company.
6.2. The Company reserves the right to cancel the Policy in cases of non-payment of premiums, fraudulent claims, or material misrepresentation by the Policyholder or Insured.
6.3. Upon cancellation, any refund of premiums will be determined based on the terms specified in the Policy, and any unearned premiums may be refunded after deducting applicable charges.

7. Changes to the Policy 7.1. The Company may modify the terms and conditions of the Policy at any time, provided that written notice is given to the Policyholder at least 30 days in advance.
7.2. Changes made to the Policy may include adjustments to premiums, benefits, or coverage terms.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality 8.1. The Company is committed to protecting the personal information of the Policyholder in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
8.2. The Policyholder agrees that personal information may be used by the Company for the purpose of administering the Policy and handling claims.
8.3. The Company will not disclose any personal information to third parties without the consent of the Policyholder, except as required by law.

9. Governing Law 9.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Zambia.
9.2. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zambia.

10. Dispute Resolution 10.1. In the event of any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to this Policy, the parties will attempt to resolve the matter through mutual negotiations.
10.2. If a resolution cannot be reached through negotiations, the matter may be referred to arbitration in accordance with Zambian laws, and the decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding.

11. Limitation of Liability 11.1. The Company’s liability under any Policy is limited to the amounts specified in the Policy documents.
11.2. The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or non-use of its insurance services.
